Is Ardell a Cruelty-Free Company?

The term “cruelty-free” applies to any cosmetic product that has not been tested on animals. However, the term “cruelty-free” is not regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration and is not a formal, legally-defined term. Because the label “cruelty-free” is not legally defined or regulated, many cosmetic companies claim their products are cruelty-free while still testing product ingredients or finished products on animals.
Ardell is a beauty company based in the United States, best known for its false eyelash products. For over 40 years Ardell has created lash looks for every occasion and style. The Ardell website specifically states the company does not test on animals. In addition, both PETA and Leaping Bunny have certified Ardell as a cruelty-free brand that does not test on animals, nor does the company engage any third-party to test its products on animals.
Ardell Does Not Sell in China
According to Leaping Bunny, Ardell sells its products exclusively in the United States, Canada, and the UK. None of these countries require animal testing on cosmetics. Ardell does not sell any of its cosmetic products in China.
